MORE THAN A weekend SERVICE
At Shepherd of the Hills we offer more than just a weekend worship services. We are a body of believers that come together every weekend to worship a God who loves us all. We strive to be better people, to help the community and to positively affect the world for Christ.
We offer five services every weekend for you to choose from, as well as children’s programs at every service. And as your children get older we provide middle school, high school and young adult services.
because people matter
We are committed to supporting international organizations that help people all over the world. We have combined forces with disaster reliefs, children hunger funds and have assisted in preparing and sending missionaries to many third world countries.
We continue to unite with organizations in providing prayer, missionaries, medical support and financial support. Our Missions Department is dedicated to crossing cultural, economic, religious and geographical barriers in an effort to spread the Gospel all over the world.
leaving a legacy
legacy Our children are the leaders of tomorrow. The Legacy Team, birth through young adult, are working together to make a lasting impact in the lives of the next generation.
From birth through 12th-grade they focus on partnering with parents and coming alongside them in being a second voice, echoing God’s Word and parent’s values. Once children become adults the young adult ministry then creates opportunities for them to participate in the move of God in owning their faith.
SMALL STARS (Nursery – Pre-K) Children are nurtured through engaging lessons from the Bible, worship in song and dance and enjoy some fun with crafts, leaving them with an impression of God’s love. Small Stars programs are available at all the weekend services.
children’s ministry (K-5th) At the Sunday morning and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. services, the Children’s Ministry provides energetic and fun environments filled with worship, storytelling, games, multimedia and small groups, leaving children with a foundation of character in their hearts.
kidtown (K-5th) KidTown begins with age-relevant worship, multimedia and energetic storytelling. Once in their classrooms, children break into small groups where they learn how to express and communicate the Biblical truths they are learning by sharing with each other while being guided and encouraged by small group leaders.
kidstreet jr. church (K-5th) This contemporary church service is packed full of high energy worship, creative Bible lessons from energetic storytellers, wise choice skits and a small group time all focused on the monthly virtue.
son rays (Ages 4 – 12) Son Rays is a program we developed for children with special needs. The children enjoy this class time with qualified adults who have a heart specifically for them.
kidstreet family theater (Families) Every Saturday at 5 p.m. in the KidStreet Room is a live, energetic and fast-paced theater production that is fun for kids and engaging for adults. Family Theater is about bringing family together.
middle school ministry (6th-8th) This ministry works to create experiences and foster memories with God for students. MSM provides a Sunday 10 a.m. service, and a midweek program centered around mentoring students every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
high school ministry (9th-12th) Through biblical teaching, mentoring, caring for students, worship and serving together, HSM strives to inspire obedience to God by pacing with students on their spiritual journey. A Sunday service is offered at 11:30 a.m. along with a midweek program every Thursday at 6:30 pm.
the vine (Young Adults) The Vine walks with young adults to continue in owning their faith, so they can in turn mentor the generation after them in following Jesus. This ministry offers a weekly Sunday 6:30 p.m. service and LIFE Groups creating opportunities for individuals to communicate, connect and do life together.
community matters
LIFE Groups are smaller communiites of people working through life together. They provide a place for people to connect with others, grow to be more Christ-like and impact our community with the Gospel.
Through our Special Events we continually strive to be an integral part of the community while providing an opportunity for the community to come together.
Events like Easter @ Porter Ranch and the 4th of July Spectacular are some of the events we host where we have a chance to love on the people around us and hopefully create an opportunity for our community to connect. Each year we try to find something special that we feel the community would benefit from. This year our 9-11 Memorial Walk a tribute to the tragic events of 9-11 was one such event.
